119 Digitally printed hemp flags for Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross
Curated by Company, Place and Rebecca Heald
This giant quilt in the sky is a celebration of pattern–its omnipresence, our enjoyment of, and expression through it. Based on my Pattern Portrait drawing series, I ran workshops with local students from Central Saint Martins and STORE Store to generate designs for the flags using fabrics they had in their homes. With sustainability in mind throughout, the flags are made of organic hemp slub that at the end of their display was turned into a clothing collection by VENTURA/Forman that was available in Kiosk N1C on Lower Stable Street from Spring 2021.
The last few flags and clothes are available on my shop here.
